Ah, Valentine’s Day… What do you all make of it? Sometimes I think of it as a worthwhile reminder to get all romantic for the sake of it, sometimes I think it’s a sprinkle of salt on the wounds of the involuntarily single, but I also think it’s a date that can reward everyone – just an excuse to show yourself some love and celebrate your wonderful individuality!
This Valentine’s Day, I plan to show a little love to my amazing girlfriends by organising a playdate. To scope out the vibe, I shot some summery little cafe scenes (ok this was shot in Sydney, and I’ll be play-dating in London, which is freezing right now), and I’m showing off some sparkly new gifts that came my way, courtesy of some work I’m doing with Daniel Wellington.
Daniel Wellington puts a real focus on the emotional impact that a brand can have – the product presentation, the unboxing experience, the contrasts of gold and silver against black and brown. I think they make really sweet and sparkly gifts. It’s true that fashion does its job when you’re wearing it, but I also love the anticipation and excitement that comes from receiving and opening new items.
In the photos here, I’m wearing the 28mm Daniel Wellington Classic Petite Durham Watch in Rose Gold watch with two beautiful Rose Gold Cuffs, that I practically live in. I’m wearing a super casual dress and whenever I’m in the mood for neutral clothes, I make sure I accessorise to give a bit of added contrast.

Anyway, regardless of what you’re doing and whether you feel cynical or extra sweet this time of year, make sure you reward yourself with a bit of love this Valentine’s Day. And don’t feel like you have to have a lover on hand to go on a date – I’ll be leaving my lover at home and opting for cafes and chick-flicks with friends!
Please leave me some comments about your Valentine’s Day plans (or your Valentine’s Day protest plans!) and remember to spoil yourself before you go worrying about anyone else! Xxxxx
