I’m so happy to be back working with Uniqlo again in 2017, and to kick things off I’m styling parts of their denim range. If you’ve ever worn a pair of skinny jeans that you’re kinda dying to get out of by the end of the day, you’ll love the fact that Uniqlo are focusing on this space, because whatever they do is well-cut, affordable and comfortable.
It’s not easy to find a balance with distressed and damaged denim. Too damaged, and you’ll find yourself showing more skin than denim; and too distressed, you’ll look like you’re showcasing Mugatu’s derelicte campaign (I’m just assuming everyone’s as big a Zoolander fan as I am here 😉. Uniqlo has probably left a bit of room to be creative in this respect, and I’ll probably encourage the slim-fit damaged skinny jeans to get a little more ripped and rogue – and I like that. It will allow me to have some rips and frays in places that are unique to me.
Scroll down and check out the boyfriend jeans that I’ve paired with the blush shirt – they’re perfect just as they are. I think they’re pretty classic – they do exactly what they say on the label. They shout ‘boyfriend,’ don’t they?
