Tulum, Mexico
Ok… So I’m not the very first blogger to travel to Tulum… But, hey – I’m happy to follow in others’ footsteps! That way they can pave the way so I can wear my heels and not get stuck!!! At the end of my US trip I hired a little mini SUV from Cancun and cruised down the highway to beautiful Tulum. I was thrilled to have found somewhere so laid back and beachy at the end of a busy trip.
We stayed at Hotel Mi Amor – little boutique hotel, super laid back and on a quiet part of the beach. Although the beach is nice, if you visit make sure you spend time wandering around the streets of the old town. There’s loads of great organic funky food on the beach, but there are some great local places too. Check out Batey mojito bar and if you want to give Tulum’s version of KFC a try, head straight to the (very) simple El Pollo Bronco for some super smokey charcoal chicken, a stack of tortillas and plenty of hot sauce (and some old dudes wondering why we weren’t down at the beach eating organic sashimi tofu)!
