One of the amazing perks about living in London is that I can just jump on the Eurostar or a plane and go pretty much anywhere in Europe for a weekend away. Amsterdam is one of the most Instagrammable cities in Europe. It has so much to offer – great restaurants and bars, friendly Dutch service and of course it’s a blogger’s dream location with the world’s cutest houses and canals. You can’t possible take a bad picture in this city! The perfect city to go for a weekend away!
We booked our Eurostar ticket about 6 weeks in advance and only cost us around 30 pounds each. (Bargain!) So make sure you check out their site for some great deals. The total trip took 4 hours from Kings Cross St Pancras to Amsterdam Central. The trip was so easy and effortless compared to having to get a cab to the airport and catching a flight. I much prefer travelling on the Eurostar.
We arrived at Amsterdam central station and got an Cab to the Pulitzer Amsterdam, which was only about 10 min ride away. The Pulitzer Hotel is centrally located and the hotel it self consist of 25 canal houses that have been modified to make up on big hub of accommodation, bars and restaurants. We checked straight into our canal view room, which was absolutely stunning and so cosy. Each room is so different and unique so I am looking forward to going back to check out other rooms with different vibes. This was my 4th time in Amsterdam and I was so surprised to wake up to see Amsterdam covered in snow! It was breathtakingly beautiful. The hotel was very festive with all the Christmas decorations.
Pulitzer Amsterdam consist of three restaurants:
1) Janz: This is where breakfast is served every morning. If you are lucky to get the little private room at the end, it’s such a special little spot over looking the canals. (See my photo below)
2) Pulitzer Bar: Amazing cocktails and beautiful ambience for cocktails and drinks before you head out for dinner
3) Pause: A little restaurant right in the middle of the hotel that has an outdoor terrace (perfect for summer!) but in winter it over looks the beautiful garden area. Very Instagrammable.
The best way to see Amsterdam is on the boat and the hotel has two beautiful boats that you can choose to go on. (See my picture below) You can choose from the “Belle” or the “Tourist”, both are equally charming! You can contact concierge directly to organise your boat trip.
I had such a wonderful stay and all the staff are lovely and so kind. I felt a little bit bad that they had to lug my four huge suitcases up the staircase but they all treated me with a huge smile on their faces. I will definitely be back for more stroopwafles! (My favs!!) If you’re in Europe and looking for a totally charming city break, book your self a weekend away at the Pulitzer Amsterdam!
Thank you so much for reading guys!!
