I live in East London so I was so excited to stay at The Marylebone during London Fashion Week as it just meant I was so much closer to most of the shows.
In the heart of Marylebone, down a quiet passage lies the hotel and it’s a great breath of fresh air, to be honest. Considering you’re footsteps from the bustling shops on Oxford Street, it’s a little piece of calm and cobbled streets.
The rooms are beautiful; a variety of suites with their own unique and contemporary style. I loved the built-in fireplaces – even though it was a pleasantly warm and sunny Fashion Week, it was still nice to come home to a cosy room at the end of a long day. Beautiful artwork hung on the walls, my room had a clean and crisp Scandi feel – really stylish.
Let’s talk about food. 108 Brasserie is the main restaurant – and let me sit you down and explain how delicious my meals there were. Everything was tasty; from the Caesar salad (a classic but if done poorly, all hell will break loose) to the sole – cooked to a golden colour with a buttery parsley pool forming on top. Burrata and tomato salad and creamed spinach complemented my meal nicely – and I also managed to snag some of the flavoursome mushroom risotto. For dessert? It had to be crème brûlée. I was running about to shows all week and needed my strength, okay? A nightcap – or two – was enjoyed at the stunning Cocktail Bar inside the hotel. Does anyone else love having dinner and drinks, knowing you just have to go upstairs to get into bed afterwards?
You guys know I’m into my fitness and R&R so I love that The Marylebone is connected to Third Space so I could enjoy the gym facilities, as well as some super cool core classes. I love this workout space and was glad to get a chance to use it as I normally use the fitness area in my building. I also loved retreating from the madness of Fashion Week and enjoying some ‘me’ time in the spa. I didn’t indulge in any treatments this time but making use of the Jacuzzi and sauna did the job nicely.
A fantastic hotel and the perfect place to stay if you want a staycation in the city or if you’re visiting and want to be central to all the best bits.
Lots of love
