SoLast month, summer weather (in London) was finally here; this month, not so much. But it’s only the start of May so here’s hoping the sunshine pushes through soon. With the soon-to-come heat (here’s hoping!), sandals are the perfect shoe for London but in case your wardrobe is lacking a pair or two, I’ve got some ideas for you.
If you invest in your choice of sandal, you can curate your own collection that will last you for many summers – it’s also a good idea to make sure you can wear your open-toed beauties in the city and on holiday to get the best cost-per-wear. Here are some of my top picks for sandal season and a style tip so you know exactly how to wear them.

Strappy Sandals
Maybe you’re a jeans girl, through and through; strappy sandals are the perfect way to dress up this casual look and take you from a chilled brunch with friends to drinks and dinner in the evening. All that’s missing is that cocktail…
Tan Sliders
Us girls could own all the sandals in the world but still depend on those classic neutral basics. Whether their Hermès staples or a good look-a-like, these timeless sliders will be on your feet for many years to come. I love pairing mine with a crisp, white dress.
Mules
These are your best friend if you’re stuck between chunky heels and a good old flat. They take a while to get used to – navigating the higher heel plus no strap was a struggle for me at first! – but they look so good with wide leg trousers and my classic shorts-and-suit-jacket combo that I love.
Modern Gladiator
Maybe I’ve been watching too much Game of Thrones but I absolutely love gladiator sandals. The ones I got myself wouldn’t really be suitable for battle though as I love the embellishments and metallic colours you can find them in. I love wearing these with pretty floral dresses or a more feminine outfit, using the gladiators to toughen up my look.
Wedges
These shoes prove that anything and everything comes and goes in fashion and it’s up to you to make it work! Whether you’re going for espadrille-soled for summer vibes or a wooden heel for a more luxe look, these leg-lengthening babies will do wonders for picking up an outfit. I love wearing them with a long-sleeved top and high-waisted shorts.

What a stylish outfit! Can´t believe it was london last month – this year we´ve been waiting for a while for a good weather, even here in Spain! I remember years I would swim at the end of march – definitely not this year though…
