Fashion meets function has to be one of my favourite style concepts right now. I’m absolutely living for the fact that I can get style points while remaining comfortable in one look. It’s especially a great idea for Spring fashion; when the weather is cool and crisp but the sun is shining through still
Uniqlo is the perfect one-stop shop for this particular weather, offering a mixture of outerwear, wardrobe basics and denim pieces to see you through the season. Think light but warm coats which are perfect for layering knits and sweaters underneath; comfortable yet fitted denim wear and a variety of jumpers and chino-style trousers. I’ve put together a few staple looks that I just can’t get enough of – they’re easy to recreate, adhering to your own personal style but, guaranteed, they’re perfect for Aussie Spring!
If you don’t own a trench coat, I really can’t stress to you enough at how much you’re missing this integral item of clothing. The perfect coat for those crisp spring (and autumn, later on!) days I was talking about and it just oozes classic style. Get it in a standard tan colour and it will go with your whole wardrobe and, trust me, you won’t want to take it off. I love playing around with different tones of the same hue so I’ve styled this with a darker tan bag and some classic light wash jeans – again, to keep a light spring feel to my outfit.
I’ve mixed light grey and white here which are perfect colours for spring wear. I don’t know about you but the grey sets me in a cosy mood, while the white keeps it fresh and adds a chic feel to the look. I love the combination of a soft high neck top with a slightly oversized coat, as the layers stop me from getting too hot or cold, as the weather changes. Pair with crisp white jeans and sneakers for an effortless, casual chic vibe.
This dark tone never failed anyone and is perfect for when you just want to throw on some clothes and look like you’ve made an effort. Sorry to be blunt but it’s the honest truth. Take this all black outfit, for example: a simple pair of black jeans (I love the hem on this pair in particular) with a black jumper. Sometimes it’s the classics that make you feel most put together. I’ve finished this look with a black handbag and black shades because I’m a committed fashionista.
