Hello beautiful people!
Welcome to November!! Woohoo! I cant believe how quick this year has gone! I am gearing up for quite a bit of travel in the next 2 months so watch this space! Loads of travel content to come! I will be in Thailand, India, Bali and Fiji before Christmas. So any tips are welcome!! Please leave them in the comment section below.
We all know I love my sleeve details! This could be bell sleeves, extra long sleeves and detailed cuffs. The key in wearing statement sleeves is you want to keep the rest of the outfit quite simple so you don’t have other focal points fighting for attention. The other thing to watch for with sleeves is soup… You don’t want to try eating a big bowl of soup with monster sleeves, it’s going to be a disaster. So all those reading this in the Northern Hemisphere heading into winter, don’t get all excited about sleeves and then head to the deli for a bowl of soup. Just not a good combo – hahahahaha ; )
Ok back to sleeves, you will have noticed that I recently came across a design house that is proving to be a good supplier of sleeves for my sleeve obsession. They’re based in South Africa, and there’s not a lot of soup in South Africa… so it kinda makes sense. It’s Michael Maven and the pitch is below – check out www.michaelmavenonline.com for more.
MICHAEL MAVEN is a women’s ready-to-wear clothing brand. Conceptualised in 2009 and established in 2013 by South African siblings Natasha Michael (BA), Nadia Michael (BA, MBA) and Mihkael Michael (B.Sc), the brand is slowly gaining traction worldwide and is worn by the likes of Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Featured in numerous publication such as Vogue, Elle and Marie Claire, Michael Maven was recently named Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) “Ones to Watch”. In 2016 the brand was selected to present its collection during Saks Fifth Avenue’s first-ever Emerging Designer Showcase in New York City, and was also been nominated in the category of Women’s RTW in the FGI Rising Star Competition 2016.

Ash… You are legit one of my fave people in the world. I love your sincerity, I love the fact that reading you is like hearing you. It feels like we are going for coffee and you are telling me about sleeves ( WHICH WE WILL VERY SOOOOON). I can’t wait to meet you in real life babe because I feel like we are very similar (reason why you are one of my fave ppl haha, jokingggg). Thank you for being you, for being that massive constant inspo and for always giving me the laugh. I love yaaa sis!
PS: We won’t go for soup with sleeves because as much as you can manage it, I am a freaking mess.
