It’s currently snowing like crazy in London, but here is a bit of spring inspiration that I captured when I was recently in Sydney. Ok, moving on – my hair is my life. (Exaggeration, but you know what I mean!) So it is so important that I have a trusted hair expert wherever I am. And I found the most amazing hair stylist in London, and I have fallen in love with one in Sydney as well.
I do spend quite a lot of time between both cities and it is so handy to have them both in my life. So for all of you Sydney gals, I want to introduce you to Kacie from Mark Gardner in Menai. And I’m not here plugging her business in return for anything, I just love it when I find someone so passionate about what they do. Kacie started working at this salon many years ago and finally she ended up taking over the business and now runs a super successful hair salon. You will find yourself very relaxed and well looked after at the salon.

Most people don’t realise that I have hair extensions. Yup, I do! My hair isn’t that short anymore but it’s not long enough either! (I’m obsessed with long hair!) My hair will probably reach a length soon that I’m happy with, but hair extensions were important for me not just because of the length they gave me. The reason I got hair extensions in the first place was because my hair was so damaged from my previous colour work and started breaking off. The struggle is real! Going from dark hair to light hair requires a lot of love and care. You can’t expect to bleach your hair and for it to just look after itself. You have to spend time and care for it, and extensions helped me protect my real hair. I learned that lesson the hard way and now I have found two of the most amazing hair dressers in Sydney and in London. They really care for my hair. I can’t tell you how important this is.
I got extensions for the first time many years ago and it was done with some nasty glue that was really bad for my hair. (Don’t do that girls!!!) Bad products will make it easy for your hair to break from the roots and that’s just really bad news for the growth of your hair – you have to start all over again.
There are so many methods of hair extensions that you can use, but my go-to has always been tape hair extensions. The downside is the maintenance – you have to get it re-tape every 4-5 weeks. You can leave it a bit longer, but they’ll start to show as your real hair grows out. But I have no pain or discomfort, I can sleep really well. It feels just like my own hair. The only thing that I do differently now is that I take care of my hair really well – I use great shampoo, conditioner and treatments. I try to minimise usage of heat on my hair as much as possible, and finally my hair is growing and healthy!!!
Here are some of my all time favourite hair products and styling tools. I have been using these for the past two years and my hair has never looked better.
Vitafive CPR Colour Anti-fade Sulphate Free Shampoo
This shampoo and conditioner are the best I’ve ever used. It might be only available in Australia. I had the most damaged hair. I’m talking straw-like, frizzy hair. But this shampoo and treatment brought my hair back to life.
Vitafive CPR Nourish Hydra-Soft Intensive Treatment 180ml
Best Treatment for damaged hair. (EVER!) My hair is always soft and smooth and bouncy after using this treatment. I usually leave this on for about 5 minutes. (Avoiding the roots of my hair of course)
Nak Aromas Oil with Argan Oil 100ml Spray
An oil that doesn’t weight your hair down!! Your hair will style in no time. Keeps it nice and shiny and protects your hair from heat.
Because I have Asian hair (flat and straight), I always need a bit of help to boost this up. I have tried so many boosters but I always come back to this.
Hands down my favourite hair dryer and I have many. It dries your hair in no time without getting too hot. Extremely quiet and it looks so chic in my room. If you can’t get your hands on a Dyson, just always be mindful of the heat of your hair-dryer – heat is your hair enemy!
I’ve been using this one for years. (YEARS!) I swear by this curler. Now all my friends are using is as well.
I used to only use the GHD to straighten my hair but now its becoming one of my favourites hair tools to curl my hair. Your hair will stay curled for days on end. It’s like a magic wan, you can create slightly different kinds of curls with a GHD. Very handy.
Kacie specialises in Showpony Hair Extensions. She will match your hair colour and order the perfect colour for you. So what are you waiting for??!! Feel free to call up for a consultation.
If you have any questions about hair extensions, please let me know and I would be more than happy to answer in the comment section below!!!

I think every girl could accept that as a fact. It is all about hair, hair and taking care of it. Hair extensions are actually fine and an easy fix.
