We all have an obsession or a “thing” that makes us happy. Some people collect antiques, some people collect musical instruments, some people collect watches. For as long as I can remember, shopping has always been my “thing.”
I love spending hours in stores and online researching trends and trying to pick what outfits will characterise the next season. I get a big kick out of finding a great deal when I shop. I really do live and breath fashion and that obsession has led me to do what I do today as a blogger. I would consider my self a very savvy shopper, so why not try to hunt down great deals so I have more money to shop?!
Being Australian, I didn’t know much about Bicester Village when I was invited to do some work with them this year. Having now visited, I’m a total convert – what genius thought of putting together a super cute village full of big fashion brands at discount prices? OMG!!!
Here’s the nutshell: Bicester Village is an upmarket designer outlet village just a short ride from London. I caught a train from Marylebone, and this took about 45 minutes – a relaxing ride through the small towns outside London with free wifi; or you can drive there from London in around an hour. The village has over 16o boutiques with all the huge designer brands you can think of: Gucci, Dior, Prada, Acne, Balenciaga, Dolce and Gabbana – the list goes on. Find all the boutiques here.
I took Scott with me and I was a little worried because he’s not into shopping at all. We caught a train nice and early and arrived at Bicester at around 9.30am just after they opened. (Find their opening hours here.) We started our day with a relaxing coffee at Farm house Restaurant and Cafe to get some energy before a big day of shopping ahead.
As an experience, I’ve never had a visit to a designer outlet that was so pleasant. It has so many amazing brands, they were all really well stocked, I found everything in my size, and I walked away with some amazing purchases. Sometimes I go to these outlets and they would only have clothes or shoes in either big sizes or really small sizes, and I walk away disappointed. Not the case at Bicester! I was a kid in a candy store!
And you know you had a successful day when your husband (who hates shopping) ended up loving it!!! He walked away with his arms full from Timberland, Hugo Boss and Paul Smith. I’m slowly making him stylish! Thanks Bicester!! Hahaha.
Below I styled my Sandro blue blazer with matching trousers. I picked the jacket up for £160 and trousers for £70. I scored the Prada canvas bag for £365 (I know!!! bargain!!!) – I’ve been using it every day. It’s just so perfect for spring and summer! Finishing my look are a pair of Sandro sneakers. (And the day after the visit I was walking through Angel in London when I hear, “Love your suit! Is that Sandro?!” Hahaha. I just love the fashion sisterhood. A lady picked the brand from like 150m away!)
If you’re ready for some unboxing joy, all of what I purchased is in my Vlog! Go check it out by clicking here – or better still, jump on a train and visit Bicester Village!
