Positive vibes only: Celebrating International Women’s day!

Yes! Sisters!!! Doin’ it for themselves! Hahaha – what an awesome day! And what a great crew!

Ever since I was enrolled into an all-girls boarding school at the age of eight, I’ve relied on my sisters to get me through the good times and the bad. Those girls are still some of my closest buddies, I trust them with my life, and I’m flying to Hawaii in two weeks (WOOHOOO!!!) to see one of them getting married!

And when I started blogging, I fell into a wonderful, wild world of girl-power and a circle opened up to me that was warm and welcoming, but also ambitious and challenging and thick skinned and hard working – I have friends in the fashion world that are bloggers, influencers, content creators, business women, entrepreneurs and soul sisters just doing their thing – but the common bond is the love, support and determination to lift the tide for all of us.

I’m constantly challenged and I wake up everyday in a challenging environment, but I don’t feel like I’m competing against my peers. I feel like I’m helping to grow our sphere of influence, rather than working against each other in a race to climb to the top of it. Maybe when a group of girls gets together we benefit from the dramatic difference in our chemistry compared to men, which brings us together in a special way.

But at the same time I don’t want the men in my life (and the many sweet and wonderful, caring and sharing male bloggers!) to feel alienated – but it’s ok to use at least one day of the year to point out the gaps and differences!

Anyway, I guess today is as simple as celebrating the amazing women on this earth and I just want to thank my lucky stars to have so many of them around me, you’re all wonderful and I love you all to bits. (Whether I managed to find a photo of you for this blog or not!!! You know who you are!!!)

Aww this almost made me teary, such true words and so beautifully written. The days of hate and jealousy are way past and anyone still operating on this level is way behind. The amount of love and support that I get from incredible bloggers such as yourself is way beyond what I could have ever imagined and what happens is that it makes me push myself. I know mediocre won’t cut it anymore as I would be letting all of you down. Here’s to more girl power and all of us getting all the way to the top and staying on top. Your photos are beautiful and a true representation of what sisterhood is about. Lots of love from a very warm London. xxx

Preach to you, who are an amazing heart, one that I call soul sister. I know we will soon have our own picture! Can’t wait for that moment to happen. Endless love to you my babe <3

OMG. I love these photos of you and the girls. It makes me miss home. I hope you had the most incredible time with your girlfriends in Hawaii! How amazing! 🙂 I am loving all of these amazing outfits, too!!

I think it’s so important to raise women and support each other. I’d rather be surrounded by women who are successful, than see people fall around me. Honestly, it’s so inspiring. Blogging really has also helped me form some of the best friendships I’ve had. 🙂 Amazing how small the world becomes when you’re connected to the web, too.

    Xo,
    Miki
